Who We Are
Reclaimed Hope Initiative is a family-centered support and advocacy organization that provides rest, support, connection, healing and hope to families navigating foster care, adoption, and children with disabilities. Created from the personal faith of our founders, Reclaimed Hope Initiative is a place for ALL families walking through trauma, crisis, and hardship offering a safe haven to be seen, heard, and cared for through the darkest moments.
While our organization was built on faith-based principles, the services we offer to families are intentionally inclusive and do not directly point to our faith perspective. We invite and welcome families from all backgrounds to join our programming.

Our Story
Paul and Bettina were high school sweethearts who married in 2009. Early in their relationship they always discussed adoption, and after a series of events leading them to missions in Uganda, they pursued their first adoption in July 2014. They brought home their sons, Jordan and Sebastian, from Uganda in August 2015 and then finalized the adoption of their daughter, Olivia, from China in December 2017.
Both Jordan and Olivia have disabilities, and all three children have considerable levels of trauma in their past. As a result, they have navigated seasons of intense crisis. During these periods, they felt the depth of loneliness and isolation this journey can bring, and felt compelled to change this for other families. In 2018 they started Thrive, a support and advocacy group for foster and adoptive families in their city. After completing their foster care certification in Spring 2019, they continued to be moved by the needs around them. As a result, they launched Reclaimed Hope Initiative to continue to meet the needs of their community, but also target the national needs of families navigating hardship in these areas. Reclaimed Hope Initiative was created to be a light for families who need help in their darkest moments.
